Bibliotheca Culinaria is an Italian publisher of culinary books destined for professional chefs and passionate home cooks who aspire to continuing education and the refinement of their skills. Since its foundation in 1990, the company has published over two hundred titles for various levels of expertise. Working closely with the professional community, it has striven to provide chefs and service personnel with texts that enable them to keep up with new trends, technologies and management theories. On another level, Bibliotheca Culinaria has brought the expertise of these professionals to the home kitchen by creating a number of series designed to stimulate creativity, enhance technique and take the guesswork out of cooking.
As with the creation of a new recipe, Bibliotheca Culinaria carefully chooses its ingredients – fine photographers, forward thinking graphic designers, experienced editors – and combines them with care, but it’s the chef’s touch that characterizes each book and distinguishes it from so many others.
Bibliotheca Culinaria books are sold in bookstores, concept stores, cookware stores and this on-line store, which has evolved from a simple e-commerce site to a meeting place for all sorts of people who are curious and passionate about food and cooking.
Mango is a Bibliotheca Culinaria imprint, created to embrace lifestyle topics that go beyond the kitchen or, more specifically, the elements that make a home or a garden particularly welcoming and inviting. Hospitality is a top priority from a perfectly mixed drink to a beautifully laid table. Titles bearing the Mango logo announce that the difference lies in the details. Life’s little pleasures from a frosted glass to a single perfect bloom add up to so much more than extravagant gestures.
The bookstore or our roots. Long before it turned to publishing, Bibliotheca Culinaria was a specialty bookstore offering hundreds of titles from Italian and foreign publishers, many of which were difficult to find in traditional brick and mortar stores. This work continues on line. Our aim is not to replicate the “everything” approach of many internet bookshops but to present a carefully edited group of titles we’ve found to be interesting, useful and reliable.
