You will find here some very general guidelines about the practical and economic aspects of using books as promotional devices. This information should be considered as a point of departure. Our dedicated sales staff we’ll be happy to discuss your specific needs and answer any questions. Contact Sonia Cervi at 0371-412684.
Is there a minimum quantity requirement?
Should you select a book that is already in print, discounts begin with as few as 1 copy. We apply a sliding scale, with discounts increasing in proportion to the number of copies purchased. We can, of course, offer a higher discount on books published by Bibliotheca Culinaria as opposed to those we only distribute.
Post production personalization is yet another option You may commission a band or adhesive bearing your own logo to be applied to an existing book for promotional purposes. These techniques are subject to approval by the copyright holder and begin to be cost-efficient when applied to more than ???? copies.
Should you wish to commission a book specifically designed for your needs, production costs are such that anything less than ??? copies is not really feasible.
Will Bibliotheca Culinaria take on all commissioned projects?
No. As a small company that believes in providing its clients with personalized attention, we work on a limited number of projects at any one time. We also reserve the right to choose those that we believe in and that are in accord with our own corporate ethos.
Is it possibile to get a commissioned book into the bookstores for wider distribution and visibility?
Yes, but success in the retail market will depend to a great degree on how the corporate presence is handled. In addition, because distribution costs are significant, it is important to decide from the outset if a book is destined for this market and budget accordingly.
What is the average delivery time on commissioned books?
Generally speaking, one year from the concept stage to printing, though some projects have been completed more quickly. Much depends on the photographic schedule, on whether the images must depict a seasonal aspect of production or follow a subject over a period of time.
Is Bibliotheca Culinaria able to produce books in languages other than Italian?
To date we have also published books in English, German, French and Japanese. Over the years we’ve built sound relationships with translators specialized in the subjects of food and wine and are confident in their expertise.
Are books taxed?
Books are exempt from Italian sales tax (IVA) in base al D.L…..
What about shipping?
Shipping costs are extra. Bulk shipping to a single destination is by far the most economic solution. However, Bibliotheca Culinaria is also equipped to handle single book shipment to the end user at competitive rates.
